Fogley fails first smell test
When then City Council candidate Damon Fogley filed his first campaign financial report he listed $475 in contributions from employees of Lockwood, Andrews, and Newman, Inc., of San Antonio. Last night, in just his second session as a council member he voted with the majority to pay Lockwood, Andrews, and Newman, Inc., of San Antonio $75,198 in taxpayer funds for additional engineering and other services in connection with the Go forth Road Project. Nothing whatsoever illegal in his actions, but ethically speaking he really should have recused himself.

when elected most candidates fall into line . talk is cheap
ReplyDeleteI disagree. Those contributions were posted on his campaign contribution lists that were filed with the city. As such, he can vote on them. If you want to hold every council member subject to who they have received a campaign contribution fund from - OUCH - the city would not go forward......
ReplyDeleteLAN gives money to most council candidates, it's business for them - an expense worth making. Perhaps it should be incumbent on those seeking elected office to reject those contributions since LAN almost undoubtedly will be heading to council to ask for high-dollar contracts.
